Have we met?
Is there something that makes Cologne so special? What makes a stay so unusual and unforgettable for visitors? Maybe it’s the city’s cultural events, its sights, its bars and restaurants, and… but hold on, other cities have that too.
No, what really lends a city its character and makes visitors come back are the people who live there. And it might sound clichéd, but there is genuinely such a thing as a kölsche feeling. The people of Cologne are truly passionate about their home city. When they return from a trip and glimpse the Cathedral spires, many will admit to shedding a quiet tear. If they see you hanging about alone on a street corner, in a bar or at the supermarket, they will offer their friendship. And they’re ready to engage in some friendly banter at any time at all.
All of this and more is particularly true when it comes to Cologne’s creative scene, which is a close-knit community. Everybody knows everyone and because Cologne is big but not too big, the usual suspects tend to cross paths all the time. The atmosphere is relaxed and familiar – and it’s this vibe that a creative team, consisting of filmmaker David Zuschlag, producers Tim Schaer and Kilian Amrehn of We.Magine and sound designer Daniel Herget, have captured in the new video clip “Vibe of Cologne”. The video portrays Cologne from an entirely new angle that draws in viewers and allows them to see the city from the inside. We hope you’re encouraged to come and meet Cologne and its residents and immerse yourself in the city’s urban scene (#urbanCGN).
PS: By the way, the clip features music by Cologne-based duo VIMES. We’re proud that they agreed to join the team! Check out the playlist with their debut album “Nights in Limbo“.
